Question: Sexual addiction treatment?

Has anyone ever been to SAA? I’m assuming they do a 12- step program like most addict meetings. But aren’t those based around God? What if you don’t believe in God but still want sex addiction treatment? And what are the 12- steps?

Okay, first of all, pay no attention to Maria. She knows nothing. Secondly, go to an SAA meeting and see how diverse the approaches are to Higher Powers, and see people who are actually in recovery. And, if you have a partner, they would benefit from COSA meetings, too. SA affects the family members, too. The important thing is not whether or not you believe in God, but that you want treatment. It's worked for many. There is hope.

You need medication for addictive behavior. This is actually a disease.

The exact wording of twelve-step programs refers not to God, but to "a Power greater than ourselves " or "God as you understand God. " This allows for a more lax, "spiritual, " personal interpretation of God. Even so, this approach is obviously not right for everyone, and that's okay. (You can learn more at 12step.org or saa-recovery.org.) There are other programs, other options. Google "sex addiction treatment " and see what else is out there. Good luck!

As a member of another program, you do not have to believe in god but only in the idea that there is a power greater than you which can restore you to sanity.( AKA the twelve steps.) be willing to do those steps and actually do them you will be ok. get a sponsor who works those steps they will show you how to get well.
