Question: Does anyone know about alcohol detox and the side effects?

Does anyone know about alcohol detox and the side effects it has on the body. and what happens after they have left the clinic, will it be stessfull to come straight back home with 3 young children, ways of coping with living with someone after alcohol detox come on somebody must have gone through the same as iam going through at the moment. thanks

Delirium tremors in the past,had to be medicated with Librium.I am sure things have changed and it is not as traumatic.Alcoholism is a disease.There is no cure.Only remission.You as well as your loved one should go to AA meetings regularly.They need to stay busy,keep their mind focused on positive things,get a job.Al-anon is for the loved ones of alcoholics.Good Luck,you have a difficult journey and it won't be easy,you will need your higher power.

Well, detoxing is a serious thing. The pt doesn't know what they are doing and most of the time need something that will control the dt's such as ativan, halidol. If he or she doesn't get serious about this awful disease they will most likely end up killing their liver not to mention the malnutrition that most alcoholics have, they rather drink their meals. Yes it will be very stressful coming home with young children but if you want to keep your kids, you have to get sober and stay that way. Good luck.

Yes u drink as much alcohol as u can for a week and see how pxxxxed u can get without vomiting
