Alcohol Detox: Methadone Facts

Question: Will an alcohol detox center accept you if you are drunk at the time you go in?

I am taking a friend to one on monday, and he likely will be drunk...it is out of town, and i will be driving...i can't stay with him if they refuse...will they allow him in?

Probably not. He will have to get sober for Monday, he may as well get used to it if hes going into detox

Yes , they will take him , if he is violent at the time , I don't know , a social detox center may not if he is violent .

Hi. I suggest you contact the detox center before you go just to get some information first,and clarify any questions/ concerns you may have in reference you to your friend walking in intoxicated/ drunk. Honestly? It makes no sense if your friend were to walk into any detox center drunk.The whole purpose for getting sober,and maintaining sobriety? Is to go in sober,and hopefully walk out sober. It almost defeats the purpose. You may want to contact the detox center before hand,and clarify some things before you make the trip.I would if I had a friend who planned on walking into a detox center drunk/ intoxicated,and the center 'may' not take walk-ins who are indeed drunk/ intoxicated,and 'may' require potential patients to be sober before they can enter.But,I really don't 'think' they can refuse anyone who needs the help.But,wouldn't hurt to call first,especially if you have any other questions/ concerns.
