Alcohol Rehab: Methadone Facts

Question: I am going to an intake/assesment for alcohol rehab tomorrow. never been through it. what should i expect?

No, it is not court ordered. Just myself wanting to go. Haven't had a drink since Sunday night, and not going through any withdrawl. Have been drinking heavily the past 2 years, mostly on weekends, but occasionally during the week. It's been getting to the point where I have been blacking out recently. what other info do you need? Thanks

Just relax...it just assesment for the alcohol so relax it will be fine.......

I need more details... were you court ordered to take one? Is someone requesting it? Do you have an alcohol problem and wanting help? I can answer both. Need more info EDIT-I have a loved one who went through an assesment. He was an alcoholic and I had to take one as well because I was court ordered. Be honest with the questions that they ask. Mostly the questions they ask are. Do you drink alone? Does drinking occupy your life, is is all you think about? Have you ever blacked out? Ever had a DWI? How much do you drink, and do you drink to get in-toxicated? There were some more, sorry its been a year but those are the basics. He was honest and was recommended that he go through an out-patient program for 2 months. It cost 15.00 a week for the visits. He learned alot it was a group setting. He now attends AA and has been clean for over a year. Good Luck to you and be honest ;)

I wish I could tell you but I have to say that you should be so proud of yourself for taking this big step towards recovery. I wish you all of the strength and courage that you need. I can tell you that if you do go to rehab you will be given medication to prevent any withdrawal symptoms and you won't suffer in anyway. To receive the right care that you need please tell them the whole truth and nothing but. Please take care of yourself. I truly commend you for what you are doing for yourself!
