You will learn to live your life without needing to depend on alcohol. They will more than likely suggest AA's 12 Steps of Recovery, which have helped millions of alcoholics to recover. If you want to get your life on track while you're still young, it's probably the best experience you could ever have! People who get connected to a recovery program early in life are far more fortunate than those who have destroyed their lives, their marriages, their finances, etc. and then go for help! Good Luck!

Although I have never been to an alcohol rehab center, I have been to a youth service center. I wouldn't imagine it being much different, but this is what I experienced. Pretty much, when you go in, you are crying and everything, but you get used to it. The first thing I noticed was that our "group " had set up different times for different activities. For example, we played board games for 30 minutes, watched sex-ed videos for the next hour, had lunch, talked about our issues, and what we need to do to get better, read for an hour, etc. Next, we couldn't physically touch anyone else but ourselves. By doing so, it would be a violation of the rules. You cannot walk out of a certain room, unless an adult, or supervisor escorts you. You cannot go to the bathroom after you have had lunch for at least an hour. If you need to however, you must yell while you are going to the bathroom. This is to prevent purging. At night, you clean up the facility, and set up your bed, changed clothes, etc. You must go to bed at a certain time. In addition, they lock your doors, so you cannot get out. Occasionally, you get interviewed by social workers individually, to discuss issues. So yeah, that was my experience. It may not be the same as yours because yours is for alcoholics. Mine was for people trying to kill themselves, doing some serious drugs, violence, etc.
