Question: Massive detox, how do i get back to normal?
(Posted by: SnoDizzle on 2010-08-27 00:55:45)
So, my story is that my wisdom teeth are coming in, and because i've had to take Vicodin too many times in the past, i asked for a more subtle pain killer as to not become addicted. The doctor prescribed Tramidol which if you dont know, is a synthetic opiate. After about two weeks of taking it, my doctor called, told me she cross referanced my chart and said that the dentist should not have given me these due to the fact that i take anti- anxiety medicine and to stop taking them immediately. I did and i went through the worst detox of my life with hallucinations, vomiting, crying for no reason, and diarrhea. My question is this, since then, i feel a lot better, but my emotions are still out of whack. Things will randomly tug my heart strings and i often feel lonely. I didnt have this problem before and i hate the vulnerable state its putting me in. Its really messing with me, im having thoughts ive never had before and for some reason, they're making me sad. Anyone have an answer for this? |

Personally no...however don't underestimate drug residue in the body. As for detox...I wouldn't call what you had a detox, exactly...withdrawal yes. Instead you could do a mini-detox of your own. Drink more water, eat fresh foods as much as possible...maybe get some milk thistle or dandelion root at health food store (capsules) and take 2, 2x a day for a few weeks to help. This is a gentle way to go about it...shouldn't really give you any uncomfortable symptoms...and will help bolster the liver etc. I'd also try some daily meditation...2 times daily if possible as meditation can help the body with self repair. When feeling uncomfortable emotionally, ask yourself 'what is the opposite of this feeling' and try focusing on how you can distract yourself to think about the 'better/ opposite' feeling for a few minutes in stead. Takes practice Of course..don't hesitate to ask your doctor or pharmacist about your overall experience. Follow up as needed. You can and will get back to normal...give it a little time...and expect positive results. |

Go get a massage. Try to use a sauna or hot tub. Detox more of the medication out of your system. The massage may help you feel some reliefs from the emotions. Try to get a massage with someone who does aromatherapy as well. Aromatherapy oils that help with anxiety are: basil, bergamot, cedarwood, Clary sage, cypress, frankincense, geranium, hyssop, jasmine, juniper, lavender, lemon, lime, marjoram, melissa, onycha (combine with rose for massage), patchouli, pine, Roman chamomile, rose, sandalwood, tangerine, tsuga (grounding), and ylang ylang. Hope that helps. |

I had a very similar experience. except i wasn't an addict or anything. the vicodin they gave me for wisdom teeth mixed with the anti anxiety crap, and i spent a couple weeks in the "nut hut ". It took a long time to get normal again. What worked for me, no bs, was Fish Oil. I would take 2 capsules in the morning and 2 at night. It helps flush the toxins in your system, and stablize the nuerotransmitter activity. If you smoke, stop smoking, also try and limit any stimulants like caffeine. stay off that anti depressant crap they might try and force on you, it'll make things worse in the long run. also do a daily affirmation, i swear it helps. look yourself in the mirror and tell yourself 3 nice things about yourself. maybe visit 1 person per day who cheers you up. also consider sueing the bastard, he probably has insurance. lol |

Yes dogg here it goes... tramadol is more dangerous than vicodin because it ALSO has antidepressant properties..and if u didnt know, when u stop antidpressants u obviously get even moe depressed than before u used them...and since tramadol makes you content with everything and its impossible to cry on them, the opposite happens when you DONT have them...just giv it time man foreal dont get addicted its kinda wack..hope i helped if u got anymore questions hit me up |
