How do you earn the title of disease? Yes, I believe that drug addiction is a disease because it alters the normal functioning of the body which is the definition of a disease.

No, a disease is something you do not have a choice in. You can choose not to do drugs or drink alcohol. Diabetes or cancer you have no choice.
