Question: Can drugs/alcohol make you really irritable?
(Posted by: Pink Panther on 2009-07-19 10:54:01)
I've been drinking a lot lately. I haven't really been completely sober since Monday or Tuesday. I start drinking around 12 or 2 everyday and continue on til I pass out around midnight. I usually mix a shot with a glass of coke, so it's not like I'm drinking it straight and getting drunk out of my mind. Lately, I'm getting extremely irritated with everyone around me, and everything annoys me. Do you think this is because of my drinking? When I'm drinking, I'm usually pretty cheery, but as soon as I start to sober up, I get so irritated. |

I definitely think that your irritability stems from alcohol, or lack of. When you're an alcoholic (I'm not calling you that, but from my experiences with alcoholics, this is what happens) and you stop drinking, you can become incredibly angry with a very short temper. Everything around you bothers you, even someone breathing can set a person off. Maybe you might want to talk to someone about it? I hope you choose to, because I don't want it to turn into that for you. It's a very bad place to be. |

Yeah thats definetly whats happening here. You spend your time drunk or sober so you are going from one exrreme to the next. It doesn't give your body a chance to heal because you aren't taking breaks. Yes and alcohol and drug withdrawal make me miserable as F**K! |

Yes, the alcohol is definitely making you irritable. You're going through alcohol withdrawals, and your body is "craving " alcohol - which is causing you to become moody and irritable. Drinking like that is really not good for you, but I'm sure you know that and have heard it many times - so no lecture here. I have something on alcohol I can send you, if you'd like. It's kind of interesting. Send me your email address, and I'll forward it to you. Again, it's no lecture - but it might be an eye-opener for you. Best of luck to you :-) Paul. |
