When on drugs- a person usually hits rock bottom (or an all time low). The serenity prayer helps in a way that people who have had little to no religion in their lives can realize there is a higher power (God). Those of us who did grow up with a very religious background will (sometimes) begin to re-examine ourselves, the choices we've made or are still making. For me, I had to realize the only way to put down the needle was to give my life back over to God. There was no other alternative. The serenity prayer is just a small stepping stone on the path back in the right direction. CLEAN & DRUG-FREE |
