Drug Rehab: Methadone Facts

1.my brother has been dragged to Vancouver(from his friends and fam in ont) with his mom whos going to med school out there(in residancy, also took him to entirely spanish speaking bonaire for actual med school). she caught him smoking pot and is now going to put him into drug rehab, to live there soon, all the way through summer. im wondering if since hes not 16 yet if he has to go, or if he can just say no. 2.we plan on having him fly back once hes done gr 10(hell be 16 by then), however he doesnt have full access to his bank account, his mom got the card cancelled, and i think she has to be there for withdrawls and everything. so im wondering if when hes 16 he can access his money to buy a ticket home to come back and live with us in ontario. info: when he came back from bonaire he was messed up, and wouldnt touch anything with his bare hands(hed even put hands in sleeves to open chips) i think it messed with his mind or something(he also gained a bit of weight, which he lost soon after) then she did residancy in west VA, baltimore, chicago and would always threaten him with forcing to take him to all these places. so basically she is a really phychotic person. hes with cibc, and remember this is in canada, so i need canadian legal advise thanks ps, he is allowed to live where he wants when he turns 16 right, so essentially he can just take off? we dont share the same mom, and btw this is in his interest since he has had to change schools about 6 times in the past 8 years and wants to go back to school in ont with his friends, has nothing to do with me, im just trying to help him out and the pot use, its just recreational, a LOT of high school students smoke pot for fun, its much safer than drinking imo. and the bonaire thing...he didnt use any drugs, something there fucked him up psychologically(probablly being taken away from his family and home schooled since the island is entirely spanish, he literally had zero friends there and nothing to do), his mom is always calling him a fuck up and everything, however he gots decent marks in school and is an athletic kid

Your solutions don't sound like they are very wise. Sounds like you are mad at your MOm and using your brother to get back at her. He needs rehab. obviously plus some psychiatric care. The 'chip' story suggests he was using hard drugs in Mexico. Why don't you worry about yourself and let your MOm worry about him. By the sounds of him, Mom could have him committed if he is a danger to himself . let them work it out.

I don't think Kellie has the right answer for you. It sounds like you care very much about your brother. Whether he's 16 or 13 you need to get some type of restraining order against your Mom to keep her from seeing him or stopping him from flying out to you! If your brother agrees that he would like to live with you, the restraining order will keep your Mom from even coming near him when he's with you. That's the first thing I would do. The second thing I would do as soon as he's back with you is to get him checked both physically and mentally to see where he's at at this point. As soon as you get some type of medical records proving that your Mom is hurting him mentally and he's all messed up, you can take her to court or just threaten to and let her know if she comes near him again, you will sue her!
