No. they give them methadone in its place. It is chemically similar but it is much easier to ween them off of as time goes by.

No. Just cut off, cold turkey. About 6 smoke breaks a day, depending on the rehab clinic. Heroin withdrawal is one of the worst drug withdrawals, but they usually leave the patient alone to go through the process, as they are thinking and usually having mood swings. And remember; patients can only change if they WANT to change.
