Everyone I've known who has ever even tried heroin has gone straight downhill, it's that addictive and destructive. Not that I know a lot of people who have, but I know a few since I used to work in fine dining, which for some reason is often a polished facade for drug addicts. My fiance even had a friend who decided to shoot up and go rock climbing. At night. Off a cliff by the sea with a 250 foot drop. That was the end of his story. I am sure that with enough determination, social support, methodone and rehab that some people might be able to get over it. But what I really recommend is that you find some new friends...the last thing you need is to get dragged down into somebody else's insurmountable obstacle. It's possible to have hope, maybe hope isn't even unfounded...but it's also really, really a bad idea to use this drug or get involved with someone who does, even as a friend. It could hurt you, too. |
