Well, heroin detox is a part of an effective rehabilitation program. It's the first stage for a person undergoing treatment for heroin addiction. Heroin detox has three stages. The first stage is called the medical stage. This is when the body is being purged of the drug, to make sure that there are no traces of narcotics left behind. The second stage is physical detox. At this part, nutritionists will design a particular type of diet for the individual to help restore the health of his body. The last stage is then the emotional detox. This is when a sense of drug-independence is instilled upon the individual. |

It is getting all the heroin out of someone's system (which is can be a very lengthy and painful process) so that person can start a program to live without the need to use heroin. |

If you are asking for yourself or a loved one....I really suggest checking into Suboxone. It is a replacement theropy drug which basically means...you stop doing heroin and start taking suboxone and you wont have to go through the withdrawls from detoxing and you wont have cravings for the heroin....You will stay on suboxone long enough to learn how to live a normal life without feeling high all the time...But suboxone is addictive also but, once you are stable your dr. will very, very slowly wean you from the suboxone so that you have very little or no withdrawls. There are some people that are like 30 years into heroin addiction that choose to stay on suboxone for the rest of their lives. Like I said if this is for you or a loved one...you should check out suboxone.com you can find a dr in your area on that website. |
