Question: Severe "physical" methadone withdrawals, what do i do?

If you can, try coming off of it slower. I emailed you two sources of help for withdrawing from methadone that you might want to check out. But, cold-chicken withdrawal is very difficult & may be dangerous, without any other intervention. Check my email for 2 sources...

Get professional medical help... otherwise you could end up very very sick... people sometimes suffer from seizures and in some instances can go into comas when withdrawing from severe addictions.

Check yourself in to a rehab, methadone is just legal heroine. If it's not getting you off the hook, you need more help. Do yourself a favor and get clean! Believe me, you are going to be happy!

The only thing you can do is ride it out... or take a lesser narcotic like Percocet to get you through it. Besides that, the only thing you can really do is to drink a lot of juice and soda and have someone with you. Also try taking something to help you sleep - if you can sleep through it, it's easier. I take Methadone for serious pain and I've been through withdrawals when I didnt get my scrip renewed in time so I know what you are going through. But really, the doctor DOES have meds to help you through the withdrawals... good luck.

I feel your pain. Methadone is more difficult to kick than heroin is. I guess you could contact your doctor and they could give you something to alleviate your pains. But in all honesty, you need to just stick it out. It will get better - I promise you that.
