Full blown withdrawl can take up to 1 week from the last day you use. Synptoms are pale/ no pigment in your skin, shakes, extreme irritability and nausia. This is the point when most people use again. you may not have a bad detox if you already take pills, (i'm assuming opiates?) If it gets bad you can go to a detox center to ride it out, they'll give you some subutex to ease the symptoms, and load you up with vitamins and stuff, which really helps. Then,as with most strong opiates, you'll go through a second withdrawl within a few weeks. The second withdrawl isn't nearly as bad, high heart rate, flushed skin, slight irritability, nausia. Good luck and i feel your pain ;) btw if you really don't plan on doing it again you might want to look into local N.A. meetings in your area, i met people who had only been on it a short time in rehab, and as bad as they wanted to get off it, they couldn't. As soon as the d.t.'s were over they said, "oohhh it's been a few weeks, i can get just a little and i'll get really fucked up, like the first time ". Everyone who said that is now back exactly where they were before they came to rehab. If you want to stop it, you can't entertain the thoughts or "maybe if's ". From what iv'e seen it always ends up becoming all or nothing with methadone or heroin. Good Luck |
