Pain Killer Addiction: Methadone Facts

Question: Morphine/ pain killer addiction, possible overdosing?

One of my co- workers has been taking Morphine and other pain medicine for about four or so months. The individual had recieved back surgery awhile back. The individual can not stay concious at work, losing weight, and this morning called in complaining of uncontrolable bowel movements. Now, here is why we think there is a serious problem: one min the individual will be fine and laughing and as soon as a doc is on the phone his voice changes whiny and pain like... then after the phone call is complete he is back to laughing and joking. This was just giving you all a little insight. Reguardless we think the guy has a problem. Is the shakes, passing out, and uncontrolable bowel movements a sign of overdosing?

Yes, your friend needs help and needs it yesterday!If your friend keeps on this path they will either be dead, in the emergency room, or in jail for hurting or killing someone or for an accident of some type.It is very typical for someone addicted to pain meds or any medication of any kind to talk differently to their doctor than they do with everyone else around them.They have to keep up the "story " for the doctors to keep themselves supplied with their drugs.And yes, passing out and uncontrollable bowel movements are signs of overdose.You can overdose on medications without it actually killing you..Get your friend help and NOW!!!!!!!!

Morphine side effects: Constipation Nausea,vomitting, diarrhea Loss of appetite dizziness anxiety headache memory problems confusion seizures hives Morphine is habit forming. Never take more than the prescribed dose. Do not stop taking it suddenly, you could have unpleasant withdrawal symptoms, ***Morphine is not for treating pain just after surgery unless you were all ready taking it before surgery***** It is also use by hospice for end of life care.... Does your company offer rehab..sounds to me like he needs it.
