Cancer treatment centers?
I keep seeing ads on TV about the Cancer Treatment Centers. I don't know exactly what they do that an Oncologist in hospital can't do. What is their secret. What do they do that " cures" a terminal cancer? Does anyone know or had the experience? If they are so successful, why are so many dying from cancer that can be so called cured? They say they cured pancreatic cancer, liver cancer etc. All the ones that are generally terminal. I'm wondering if the people that give the testimonies are paid to do so and never had cancer. I'm confused.

It seems anyone who gets a year is a success. Why do some people " get it" and others don't? There are so many types of treatment centers gender, cultural, co ed, dual diagnosis, and multiple therapies that work, and don't work. Treatment centers write up a exit strategy and that's about it. After care or step down programs are very effective, sober living within the sphere of the treatment center are also effective. I know, I did it. But what about the countless treatment centers that give a 90 day certificate and release who they diagnose a real alcoholic. I am referring to the pack them in and move them out. They'll be back more tore up from the last time. I don't get it. I am a human services major. Should we raise the bar on risk management for these psuedo public treatment centers?

Hi, I'm 18 and suffering from severe depression. For the past six weeks I had been drinking nonstop by myself every night. I only stopped last week because I received my mood enhancement " potion" its called potion 9 mood enhancer totally legal in the US just a bunch of weird stuff in it , because it gives me the feeling of being " drunk" . I take this several times a day. Although I am in therapy I am thinking I need something more intensive. I am extremely depressed and lost and I can't continue with normal day to day functions. I was first wondering, would I go to a treatment center for depression or for addiction? I don't think there exists an actual addiction to legal over the counter mood enhancements, but I feel like I am addicted. I am looking for some advice on a residential treatment center I could go to. I am not a fan of hospitals. I went to one before for an eating disorder, and the staff was terrible and it did nothing for me. I have heard good things about some of these " luxury rehab" centers. My parents are willing to foot the bill but realistically I can't figure out what we can afford. While we live in a $2 million dollar house and my high school cost $35,000 a year NOT TRYING TO BRAG OR SOUND SNOOTY just trying to provide a basis for the amount of money my family has, because I don't know their income I have heard some treatment centers costing upwards of $30,000 a month. I think that would be out of the question financially. I know if I asked them to go to a certain center, they would send me there, but I can't bear to put a burden on them financially... I don't want my parents to have to take out from their retirement to send me to the most posh place. I am just looking to find a nice affordable place where I can get quality treatment, but not feel like I'm in a hospital. So basically to sum things up my question is should I go to a treatment center for addiction, or for depression? And does anyone know of a quality somewhat " luxury" ish rehab that is affordable? I am willing to travel anywhere in the world. Thank you.
