Question: Sorry ask again , what do you think of naltrexone treatment for heroin addiction?

Naltrexone blocks the opioid receptors in the brain. In active heroin addicts, this causes a severe withdrawal. In addicts who are clean, it blocks heroin's ability to get them high. In theory, it's a great idea: no point in using if you can't get high. However, very few heroin addicts will take naltrexone because, like most addicts, they don't want to totally rule out the possibility of using. This is the same reason that alcoholics refuse Antabuse.

I was on it. I think it is something to check out. I did have cravings somewhat but it's worth a try, I didn't have any side effects or anything. I don't think it was a miracle drug or anything, but.. it may only be me. Try it!

Same as I did when I answered the duplicate question. Its not very useful.
