How to overcome a vicodin addiction?
I know I should never have started taking pain pills but I did and I know it will kill me which is why I'm reaching out for help. I tried getting off cold turkey, but I get withdrawal symptoms within 24 hours if not sooner. I don't want to go into a program or see a doctor, even though it may be my best chance. I don't want to tell anyone who loves me because I don't want to disappoint anyone. My life is so miserable that I crave that high just to get through a day in my life How can I better my life so I don't need a high, and how can I get through the withdrawal symptoms? I'm only 20 years old, and I might take 60 100mg of Hydrocodone a day for the past couple years, after I get clean I'll go to a doctor to have my liver checked, but I want to get clean first. Please no negative answers, I need positive reinforcment and help. Any answers that may help me will be extremely appreciated

I took 3 4 Vicodin a day for approximately 6 weeks. This was for multiple tooth infections, and ultimately extractions. They started at 7.5mg does and, after the extractions, the does was upped to 10mg.I was worried about stopping, for fear of withdrawal. I haven't had any for over 24 hours now, and I don't feel any kind of withdrawal. I am taking Ibuprofen for the lingering pain and feeling fine.Is it safe to say that I did not become addicted? I was really concerned about this, even though I was taking it for legitimate reasons.

I have pain in my back all the time and i was prescribed vicodin. i have been taking it for about 2 months, but im soo sad and depressed when im not on it. I cant get happy unless i have it, and i know its because of dopamine and stuff.my question is, does tylenol extra strength mess with my dopamine also? cause that helps with the pain too and i would rather take that and be able to get happy again

I'm in a horrible situation that I'm ashamed of so I'm not going to give all the details, and please don't judge me I have a sick family member living with me. I love them and help them with everything and all that I have and I can give. However, I used to be slightly addicted to vicodin in the past. When I was younger and all the cool kids did it. I never was into it too seriously, but enough for it to become an addiction. It was cut off when the source was cut.Now, my sick family member has a perscription to vicodin. So, in our house there's always a huge container of it. There it is, just staring me in the face I know how horrible it is... but I always have the itch to take some. I think about how wrong it is to take it and how much my family member needs it... but that can't stop me Its the force of the addiction that often leads me to snagging some pills.I want to stop this but I can't Please help I know how difficult vicodin addiction is to break, but how can I stop taking it when the source is so available and near?
