Can anyone give me some info on vicodin addiction and rehab?
My husband has been addicted to vicodin for 2 years. I found out in March. He went cold turkey and made it through the horrible with drawls. He was clean about 2 months, then, he went back to using. He was only using a week or so before I found out. He started going to NA meetings faithfully, got a sponsor, and seemed to be doing well. He made it 3 weeks and used. He got back on track and made it another 10 days. Used again. He came home last night and told me he can't do this alone, on the outside and wants to go to rehab. Of couse I said great. So, he is going to detox Tuesday and then to a inpatient facility. How will rehab help him? He gets his vicodin at his job and it is not going away and he cannot quit his job. Will rehab make him stronger? I have no idea what to expect. Any help would be great. Anyone had the same problem and stayed clean? Thank you so much for any info.

How bad is my vicodin addiction?
With great disgust I have been taking vicodin for appx five years. I only take the amount that is prescribed and I do not go to other doctors for refills or try to get them from outside sources. My boyfriend called me a drug addict the other day and it really got to me. I am quite sure that I am addicted but I am not sure to what degree. I have stopped, but when I had my son, I had a c section I started again. The doctors gave them to me for my surgery. I did say that I " take them for back pain" because that is why they were prescribed. Every time I go back to the doctor he keeps giving them to me no questions asked. I would like someone who has been or is in my position to tell me how bad off I am. I take appx 4 per day. That is what is on the bottle. I did read somewhere that some vicodin addicts take between 30 100 per day. Am I as bad off as I think? Also is it a cop out to wean myself off or should I just go cold turkey, I have a child, withdrawal may affect me caring for him

Help to get off a vicodin addiction?
I know someone who is hooked on the pill vicodin and she has been for over 3 years but it got way worse when her father dies. She knows she needs to get off them but when she tries she hurts so bad. She spends so much on them that she late on her rent and can not help herself. If she can not find them on the street she will go to the hospital to get them. I dont know what to do for her. Can you please help. She can not afford rehab or she would be there.

Oh no.. not 6 a day... 6 at a time lol. I take approx. 13 a day. I don't always take 6. It ranges from 3 6 depending on how I'm feeling. I've overdosed in the past and stuff too.. I have depression so... idk... I take Prozac but theres only so much it can do since the main problem causing my depression is still here. I am totally addicted to vicodin though. I've tried to get off it many times but I just cant.. When I'm not on it, I crave it like crazy and it's all I can think about.. It's completely killing my grades too... dang idk what to do...

How to overcome a vicodin addiction?
I know I should never have started taking pain pills but I did and I know it will kill me which is why I'm reaching out for help. I tried getting off cold turkey, but I get withdrawal symptoms within 24 hours if not sooner. I don't want to go into a program or see a doctor, even though it may be my best chance. How long will I have to deal with withdrawal symptoms from vicodin addiction?
I have been addicted to vicodin for about 5 years. I decided it was time to quit 2 days ago since then I have taken half a pill 24 hrs ago and thats it. Im feeling pretty bad but im determined to do this. I know a lot of people say to taper your use down slowly. Ive tried that many times dont work for me. Just when I think Im feeling better here comes another round of misery. Anybody know how long this will last I was taking 5 10 pills 500mg a day for 5 years. Any suggetions to help ease the misery. How do I go about getting help for vicodin addiction?
I think this is the first step, finally admitting that I have a problem.If I go one day without these, I feel like a wreck. I don't want to get out of bed, I'm sore all over, I get cold very easily, my nose is always running, and I'm overly depressed. But when I pop a few of these, I feel so much better. I'm a 22 year old female trying to kick a 2 year long vicodin addiction. I'm not sure what kind of physician to see or where to go. There are outpatient clinics that specialize in addiction and I also have a psychiatrist but both of whom are unable to see me for another month.
