Vicodin Addiction: Methadone Facts

Question: How long does it take to kick a vicodin addiction?

My husband has severe pain in his head, neck, and back. He takes hydrocodone for it, became addicted like most people do, and wants to quit. It's his second day quitting and going through withdrawals. He was prescribed Ultram to help with the pain, but it doesn't help that much. How much longer will he be in pain? Thanks. =( Also, is there anything I can do to help him feel better? His birthday is tomorrow, and I hate seeing him in so much pain. Eric: If he didn't have any painkillers, he wouldn't be able to move.

Took me about 4-5 days to get over the entire thing...by the 3rd day I could tolerate the pain and cramping(whole body). All they would give me was regular tylenol. Tell him to stick with it and good luck with everything.

3 or 4 days but he needs something for pain.

IT varies from person to person Pooki,no 2 people are alike. most people it takes about 3 to 4 weeks the fastest way is cold turkey what good is it,if his doctor gives him another painkiller,while he's trying to kick the vicodin.now he's going to have to kick two in one,thats not fair to your husand.this is where you come in.he's going to need your strength and your love,to see him through this ordeal. let him know,that he's not alone,because you'll be at his side.
